Ruffles Puppy Training Course

We run puppy classes throughout the year. Each course is 6 weeks long and includes a graduation certificate. The classes are welcoming, friendly, fun and interactive where you and your pup can build the foundations and learn the skills to set you up for a successful future.
Classes cover a range of skills from the basics of sit/down/stay to the more complex skills of impulse control, hand signal recognition, lead walking, recall and trick training. If you have any special requests that you want to learn, we can schedule them into the course too.
Places are strictly limited to ensure quality so please enquire and book on early.

We are Balanced Dog Trainers. This means that we use reward-based positive techniques alongside boundaries and correction when necessary. We believe this type of training provides the best structure in which a dog can learn. If a ‘Positive Only’ trainer is what you are looking for, unfortunately, we are not the right trainers for you. We believe that positive reinforcement training is great and we use a lot of it in our techniques- but we also have learnt that it doesn’t solve all issues for all dogs and that a balanced approach gives better results and more happy dogs and owners over time.

We may ask you to use slip leads instead of harnesses if you are looking to develop calm and controlled lead walking and we will show you how to correctly and safely use them and get you the results you are looking for.

Puppy 1:1 Training Package
Let us help you get it right right from the start with your new puppy (up to 5 months) so they grow up to be a balanced, happy, well adjusted dog. This package will cover puppy basics and how to avoid common puppy problems. This is an ideal option for those who prefer 1:1 training instead of our group classes.
Our home assessment and consultation will discuss what you want to achieve and set you on the right track from the start with toilet training, to crate training, to walking and basic obedience training and resolving common puppy issues.
This can be followed up with 1:1 training sessions in your home on anything you want to focus on.
Bullet point notes will also be given on key learnings.

Adult Dog 1:1 Behavioural/Training Package
Sharon can help you work through your dogs problem behaviours which can be achieved through consistency, patience and commitment to the training programme.
Initial Home Consultation including theory, practical work and advice/notes: £100
Follow up training sessions if there are further complex issues:
£80 per session
